When this goes to court and if he uses mental healthy as a defence, then M'Naghten rules will be invoked:
and I quote:
"that every man is to be presumed to be sane, and ... that to establish a defence on the ground of insanity, it must be clearly proved that, at the time of the committing of the act, the party accused was labouring under such a defect of reason, from disease of the mind, as not to know the nature and quality of the act he was doing; or if he did know it, that he did not know he was doing what was wrong."

Might have only been spoken about recently but the conditions i am.talking about have been known about for a ling time . I remember a few murders committed by people that had been.let out of mental.institutions but not been propely cared for in the community.
I don't know if this person was on the radar of our mental health services but if he was then i am.sure subsequent investigations into this tragic event will tell us if the action was premeditated or the actions of a person who.perhaps should have been being better monitored/taken care of.

When I was 13, a good friend of mine was stabbed to death by his father, who also killed his mother as well.
He pleaded insanity, got 7 years.
The system wasn't aware of what insanity actually meant, due to this there's not the facilities to help people.
You can try point the blame to politicians but in reality no one is really at fault, it's part of a process of learning these things.

How can you be angry at a system that has only just known the full severity of mental health issues, Debs?
Mental health has only really been spoken about openly within the last few years, also it takes people to talk about it to recognised people so they can get help, which is the main issue as a lot of people do not discuss it.
However, people weaponise Mental Health as an excuse to commit these sorts of things.

I would be angry about the system that wasn't properly looking after the man or woman who did this,, but like i say do we know all the facts yet?
Trust me though Block the man who.killed my brother will never be forgiven nor will the justice system.which let the cunt out 3 years into a 7 and half year sentence for causing death by dangerous driving. He didn't give a shit about putting other's life in danger.

There is a big difference between depression and psychotic mental.health conditions. I am not saying this man was actually mentally ill as do.we know enough at this stage, what I am.saying is that there are conditions which people can have and they have to be properly assessed.
